This policy explains how OptiALT processes data when merchants install and use the app on Shopify.

• Shop domain and app session data for authentication.
• Product and media metadata needed to generate and update image alt text (for example product title, product type, vendor, variant options, SKU/barcode, and current alt text).
• App settings and run status (template, schedule, last run time, run state, and latest run summary).
• Technical operational data, including minimal logs and performance telemetry required to operate and monitor the app.

We do not process payment card data.

We do not process customer personal data as part of OptiALT core functionality.

• Deliver core app functionality.
• Run scheduled and manual optimization jobs.
• Maintain security, reliability, and compliance.
• Respond to support requests.

We do not sell merchant personal data. We may use trusted infrastructure providers only as necessary to host and operate the app.

We retain data only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. After uninstall or a valid deletion request, we delete or anonymize data as required.

OptiALT supports Shopify mandatory compliance webhooks:

• customers/data_request
• customers/redact
• shop/redact

If Shopify sends these webhooks, we use payload data only to satisfy legal compliance obligations.

We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.
